Not long to wait for Christmas!
Remember that Christmas is Jesus’s birthday
We had a lovely carol service on Sunday. It was special being together and sharing the carols (even if we couldn’t sing along) and enjoying all the lovely lights and stars in church. One of the carols was Little Donkey.
Here are the words.
Little donkey, little donkey on the dusty road
Got to keep on plodding onwards with your precious load
Been a long time, little donkey, through the winters night
Don’t give up now, little donkey,
Bethlehem’s in sight
Ring out those bells tonight
Follow that star tonight
Little donkey, little donkey, had a heavy day
Little donkey, carry Mary safely on her way
Little donkey, little donkey, journey’s end is near
There are wise men waiting for a sign to bring them here.
Do not falter little donkey, there’s a star ahead
It will guide you, little one…

Imran took our gifts to Linda Fielding for the refugees. My thanks to all of you who contributed.
Here is Linda’s letter of thanks:
Many thanks for all the lovely gifts and donations which you sent over with Imran. Please pass my thanks and good wishes to him.
And thank you for the cards they are really appreciated.
We are sending things into the initial accommodation, and because the playroom is being used as a dining hall to spread people out, we are sending children toys, games and goodies to their family rooms. We are also sending spare thing to be given out by the staff.
Please send our thanks, and those of all the children, to all the children and helpers at Messy Church. Their thoughtful gifts are really appreciated and will make people’s stay in the initial accommodation a lot happier.
The Clothing Store is a hive of activity at the moment but hopefully we will be able to help people have a good Christmas.
I hope you and the family stay safe and well and have a happy and holy Christmas.
Love and good wishes for now, Linda
Thank you, God for all that you have given us: Sunshine and rain, cold weather and warmth in our homes.
Thank you for all the people that are around me, especially….
Please help ……….., who is sad, ill…….
Bless those who don’t have enough food, warmth and love this Christmas.
Please show us what we can do: a smile is a good start and goes a long way to help others.
Bless us as our holidays start and we look forward to your birthday celebrations.
God bless you all with peace and contentment.
Love from Joy and the Messy Church Team.
